DearJosh,
Momsbirthday today!! We had a fun time yesterday as Kathryn and Mat withBrooklyn, Claire and Addy come up from St George, Jane and Jeromy with theirfamily came down from Ogden and Marianne and Greg and Natalie and Adam withtheir families came over. Grandpa Kiser made the short trip over for thedinner party and we had 24 people over for dinner. Mom got her wish andplayed games past midnight and came to bed at 4am. Way too late for me tostay up. I guess she visited with Jeromy and Jane. They just camehome from Singapore so I guess their mental and physical clocks must have beenoff just a bit.
Iam guessing that the reason we have not seen an email from you is because it isa holiday today. That is giving me a chance to get a short note off toyou. We heard a great message from a return missionary from the 16thward yesterday. He was speaking with the high councilman. He hadserved in the Ukraine where they had just dedicated the first temple in theeastern bloc countries that had been part of the Soviet Union. The day hearrived the Mission President took him to a small hill where President Packerhad dedicated the missionary work. As they looked out over the city ofKiev, the mission president told them that President Packard prophesied thatthe city would be dotted with temples. The fulfillment of that prophecyhas just started with the completion of this first temple and the missionarywork is moving forward. He had wonderful experiences and were able to usethe influence of the temple in their mission as a tool to share with inactiveand people of other faiths. The temple is such an incredible blessing forthese people.
Iguess that it is not too much different with the Baton Rouge temple not too farfrom you.
Idriving up on the Sandy/Draper boarder and could see the Draper Temple, theRiver Jordan Temple and the Oquirah Mountain Temple. Icouldn’t see the downtown lights, but I knew of their proximity and wasgrateful for the Salt Lake Temple. What a blessing it is for us inthe valley to have a temple so close to each of us.
Thelegislative session starts in a week, next Monday. It will all come toofast. I am grateful for the opportunity but this will be my final sessionas I am not planning on runnignfor office again. Business has been reallyslow with the recession and I just lost my largest account so I just need toget back to work and support the family.
Hey,just know I love you so much and am so proud of you. I just think thatyou are totally awesome.
Loveyou,
Dad
